Activate Learning

The challenge

Activate Learning came to Clearhead adamant that they wanted film content to add to their marketing mix that stood out from the crowd and showed the wide variety of offerings they have as a group. Different to some of our normal educational clients, Activate Learning are a group of educational establishments across various age groups, that cover many different subject areas and they came to Clearhead to collaborate on two films that would take their video content to the next level.

The process

Clearhead produced creative treatments for the two films that would involved new film-making techniques for us and produce unique educational content to be proud of.

The first product, a brand positioning film, incorporates a mixture of cinematically impressive double-exposure shots and a highlights package of successful scenarios that you can expect as an Activate Learning student.

In line with this, a full promotional film was produced, telling the story of key protagonist students and the highs and lows of study that ultimately lead to success. Scenarios covered key words like ‘ignite’, ‘building’, ‘hard work’, ‘challenge’ and ‘enterprise’ to create an impactful piece that connects with the audience.

The solution

Produced over three filming days across locations in Oxford, Reading and Banbury, the two films provide Activate Learning with video content that sums them up well, as something different, a new way of thinking and an outstanding group. A 30-second edit hit local Vue cinemas to reach a wide audience.

Up next

In 2012, Clearhead and City of Westminster College first worked together to create what is still seen as one of the leading promotional films in the eduction sector. To follow on from the success of that film production and cinema campaign, the college’s marketing team asked Clearhead to produce a new film campaign that complimented the original film, with a focus on the student experience.
