The Challenge

Happy holidays with a stop motion animation. Clearhead continue to work with one of the world’s leading hair gurus, Philip Kingsley - the man who coined the phrase ‘bad hair day’. The brief was to produce a series of Christmas brand films for use on social media throughout the festive period.

The Process

Clearhead worked on establishing executions for the brands requirement to release a small series of product-related social media content during the festive period. The key focus was to create fun and quirky content that reflected the high quality and premium nature of the products and brand.

The project was compromised of a two-day photographic shoot to choreograph the stop motion animation scenes; taking stills and repositioning elements over 1,000 times in order to compile the 25 frames for every second of final output.

Post production was completed in-house using After Effects, and the finishing touches applied with colour grading in DaVinci Resolve.

The Solution

The result is a fun and character-filled series of stop motion animation films for the brand, for use on QVC as well as Philip Kingsley's social media channels.
